Vervelende Code
Maar als je op de nederlands vlag klikt, dan is het ineens weg. Het zit hem dus echt alleen in de index pagina.
Als ik de html pagina's open in notepad bijvoorbeeld, dan zie ik geen verschillen in de code's die hetzelfde zijn. Als ik ze lokaal open zie ik ook niets staan linksbovenin het scherm. Dus alleen online.
Bij internet explorer, zie ik juist weer niets linksbovenin de site, het ligt dus aan firefox. Maar alleen online zie ik het staan in firefox, offline staat het er namelijk weer niet.
Iemand enig idee hoe dit zou komen?

Firefox ziet dus tekentjes die er niet instaan.\
Zelf denk ik ook dat het met de karakterset te maken heeft, maar hoe krijg ik dat dan weg?
(fckeditor is toch voor als je site met php is?, deze is namelijk alleen maar html)

Edit: wat ik dus bedoel is dat je browser je alleen laat zien wat hij ervan maakt; niet precies wat jij in je HTML hebt staan. Net zoals dat je nooit de source van een php bestand kan lezen dmv de source. Snap je?

Ikzelf heb de site niet gemaakt, er werd mij gevraagd om het een en ander bij te voegen. Op de plek waar ik werk heb ik alleen maar notepad en geen frontpage, ik weet dus niet of de site met frontpage gemaakt is. Ikzelf heb in ieder geval niet met frontpage gewerkt.

Juist ja, dus daarom snap ik er niets van. Kopieren vanuit de source in een nieuw bestand werkt niet.
Dit heb ik al meedere keren gedaan (wel die stomme code weggehaald natuurlijk)

Wat in een enkele geval wel eens wilt helpen:
- Andere editor
- Bestand opnieuw maken (kopie en pasta)
- Opslaan
Maar dat hielp bijvoorbeeld bij FCK ook alleen maar bij bepaalde bestanden. Niet bij allemaal.
Er zijn echter editorss (op de CLI op linux bijvoorbeeld) die die tekens wel zien staan en ze weg kunnen halen. Vraag me alleen niet welke.

Dat zei ik al, offline doen de html bestanden het gewoon goed, maar online niet (in firefox dus)

Ik heb dit gemaakt met notepad, ik moet dus iets anders zoeken dan notepad? Het bestand opnieuw maken heb ik al gedaan, maar moet dit dan ook een andere naam hebben of gewoon de oude naam?
Plus dat het raar is dat de index.html niet werkt, maar de index-nl.html wel. Ze hebben allebei exact dezelfde karakterset.
Dit bedoelen jullie daar toch mee?:

ps. Als je bovenstaand bestand download en gebruikt, wil je waarschijnlijk wel het absolute pad naar oa. de stylesheet en de header image weer veranderen in een relatief pad.
pps. De oplossing is waarschijnlijk gewoon een goede editor gebruiken. Dreamweaver en Eclipse werk ik zelf mee, maar met Notepad++ moet je op locatie ook prima uit de voeten kunnen.

Doe niet zo bijdehand door je reactie twee keer te plaatsen. TS heeft al gezegd dat er met Notepad gewerkt wordt.
Probeer eens in je metatags de ISO waarde te gebruiken, zo dus: (ISO-8859-1).

Dan zou het opgelost moeten zijn. Het verklaart ok waarom het lokaal niet zo is: je lokale server (je Windows) stuur niet een header mee met ISO-8859-1 als karakterset.
Edit:
@Blanche: Bij jou werkt het wel omdat jou server geen karakterset meestuurt. Op de TS server werkt het dus nog steeds niet, maar met bovenstaande methode hoogstwaarschijnlijk wel.

@ Blanche, ik ga nu even jou bestand gebruiken. Ik zie dat jij het php genoemd heb? Is dat met een speciale reden of dat niet?
Notepad++ kan ik mee uit de voeten, Dreamweaver heb ik thuis, maar op me werk heb ik niets anders dan het standaard notepad op windows, waar niets extra's bij zit.

Oh oke, nou ik heb het voor elkaar :D. Je had gelijk het lag dus toch aan de editor. Volgende keer gebruik ik dreamweaver maar (doe ik het thuis wel). Ik ga in ieder geval niet meer met die standaard notepad werken.
